Flashback Friday

Ok here's a great flashback friday edition. These pictures are from when J and I first started dating and our first Christmas together. Enough said--the pictures speak for themselves!! Ok now that you are totally laughing yourself to tears--go get a tissue--your makeup is running!!

Reflections of Christ

Every year in at the Mesa Temple they hold an Easter Pagent. I received this in an email and thought that I should share it with you--it is a little long but worth the good feelings you get from it, ENJOY!

"This year there was a 'Reflections of Christ' photography exhibit recently on display at the Mesa Temple Visitor's Center in conjunction with the Easter Pageant produced by the Church. The photographer was given permission to photograph Pageant cast members for the exhibit. The photographer worked with a few other individuals to put together a 5 minute slide show which includes every image from the exhibit set to the hymn 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing"

memories.....

So J and I were talking last night about what our youngest memories were. Mine is going to the movies with my dad, only me, to see Pinnochio! I remember an escalator and some mall area where it was at. I had to be like only 2 but I have vivid flashes of that time. What are some of your youngest memories? Oh by the way I was reading and also a piano prodigy at this time in my life as well! lol (some of you will appreciate that)

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things (or Places) By Jesus

Hey everyone,
Living in Vegas, people always assume that we know where to go and what to do. Well, for this blog, I've decided to share my expertise on places to go in Vegas . More specifically, places to eat here in town. Hopefully, everyone can add their own places in the comments, whether it be in Vegas, Phx, Tucson, Winslow, Yuma, wherever. Just so you know, I don't eat cheese so meals at these places are always sans fromage. (W/O cheese for you bumpkins). Also, this is a list of places I've actually eaten at. So without further ado:

1. Best Burgers: Cheap- In-N-Out. mmm double double Not as cheap - Red Robin . guac-bacon
2. Best Mex: Los Tacos - tortas, beans and rice are the best in town.
3. Best Steak: Cheap-La Sizzler. Not as Cheap-Fundillo Negro, I mean Black Angus.
4. Best Italiano: Can't go wrong with the OG. Zuppa Toscana is my favorite dish there. Plus, in college, this was the "fancy/cool" place to go eat at on special occasions. Sentimental value you know.
5. Best Salad Bar: Hee hee... As IF!
5. (For reals this time) Best Samwiches: Atlanta Bread Co. Yummy bread, not too fancy.
6. Best Seafood: Joe's Crab Shack. Very good portions.
7. Best Chinese: PF Changs. Something about the brown rice really satisfies. And no, the lettuce wraps ain't all that.
8. Best Pizza: Papa Johns Pan Works
9. Best Buffet: Cannery because of the closeness and the smoked salmon on a log.
10. Best Restaurant Overall: Claim Jumper - I've never had a bad meal there and the portions are Jesus-sized.

Now, Let's hear about your favorite places either in the comments or on your own blog.

Day Camp

So AJ had day camp this weekend for Cub Scouts and is now trained to kill or mame is 4 different ways. J/K. But he was able to shoot a BB Gun (which he is desperately and vainly trying acquire from us) and shoot a regulation Bow and Arrow. Up until now, it's only been NERF or the suction cup arrows. He had a great time and was able to meet a very handsome hero. Veeeery handsome.

Flashback Friday....next generation

Ok so I totally remember doing this when I was little. AJ wanted to try sucking up helium and talking. The look of shock on AJ's face when I said sure, followed by a "REALLY????" was funny in and of itself. He was a little hesitant at first to actually go thru with it but with some good peer pressure by his "Parentals" he gave in. Way to go---way to give into pressure. Should that worry me????? Anyway here's the little video from AJ's experience with helium. (Ignore the total man-mom voice---I've been a little under the weather!!!)

Favorite Quotes

So I got this at the end of an email and it made me laugh out loud! What are some funny quotes you have seen?
"Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes."

Flashback Friday--a cute one

Ok so I was looking through my MILLIONS of pictures trying to decide what to do for FBF--and came across these preschool graduation pictures of the boys. They made me smile and I hope they make you smile too. Note they are wearing the same tie! (nice thing about two boys together--hand-me downs!!)

Some Cleaning Tips....

I got this in a cute email, thought I would share the wealth...

The way I clean house!

Dirt: Layers of dirty film on windows and screens provide a helpful filter against harmful and aging rays from the sun. Call it an SPF factor of 15 and leave it alone.

Cobwebs: Cobwebs artfully draped over lampshades reduce the glare from the bulb, thereby creating a romantic atmosphere. If your husband points out that the light fixtures need dusting, simply look confused and exclaim, "What? And spoil the mood?" (I just throw glitter on them &call them holiday decorations).

Pet Hair: Explain the mound of pet hair brushed up against the doorways by claiming you are collecting it there to use for stuffing hand-sewn play animals for underprivileged children. (Also keeps out cold drafts in winter).

Guests: If unexpected company is coming, pile everything unsightly into one room and close the door. As you show your guests through your tidy home, rattle the door knob vigorously, fake a growl, and say, "I'd love you to see our den, but Fluffy hates to be disturbed, and the shots are SO expensive."

Dusting: If dusting is REALLY out of control, simply place a showy urn on the coffee table and insist, "This is where Grandma wanted us to scatter her ashes."

Painting: Don't bother repainting. Simply scribble lightly over a dirty wall with an assortment of crayons and try to muster a glint of tears as you say, "Junior did this when he was 3 years old, and I haven't had the heart to clean it."

General Cleaning: Mix one-quarter cup pine-scented household cleaner with four cups of water in a spray bottle. Mist the air lightly. Leave dampened rags in conspicuous locations. Develop an exhausted look, throw yourself on the couch, and sigh, "I clean and I clean, and I still don't get anywhere." As a last resort, light the oven, throw a teaspoon of cinnamon in a pie pan, turn off oven and explain that you have been baking cookies for a bake sale for a favorite charity and haven't had time to clean...Works every time.

If the house is clean, the computer has crashed.
